People often arrive at the airport and find that their flight is delayed. In some cases it may be a delay of about ten minutes, but sometimes there can be delays of up to hours, so it's important to know how to deal with this kind of inconvenience.
Whatever the extent of the delay, it's best to go to the airline's ground staff to receive information on the reasons for the delay and your rights. In fact, if the flight is delayed by more than 2 hours, as enshrined by the Passenger Rights Charter published by ENAC (https://www.enac.gov.it/), you have the right to request assistance in terms of:
- meals and drinks in relation to the waiting time
- adequate hotel accommodation, if one or more overnight stays are required, transfer from the airport to the place of accommodation and vice versa
- two telephone calls or messages via telephone, fax or e-mail.
In addition, each airline can re-route you on an alternative flight if it is available.
Don't forget that Amaka is available to provide you with all the necessary assistance. If the air ticket is part of a tourist package purchased with Amaka, please contact our Customer Support.
